Denali Backcountry Lodge is looking for a highly energetic; people oriented Massage Therapist & Wellness Activities Coordinator (MTWAC) to join our Team inside Denali National Park during the 2013 Summer Season.
The primary responsibility of the Massage Therapist & Activities Coordinator (MTWAC) is to provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times. The MTWAC will be a licensed Massage Therapist, and will also be in charge of planning, coordinating and accomplishing a variety of activities for the Lodge guests. The MTWAC is a position and requires a highly energetic, people oriented and creative individual with an outgoing personality.
Essential Wellness Activities Coordinator Functions:
- Plan, coordinate and execute daily activities including but not limited to arts and crafts classes, exercise sessions, dances and dinners.
- Produce a calendar of events for the entire summer season, including a detail budget and list of supplies required.
- Promote daily activities during dinner time and encourage guest participation.
- Collect established fees for activities and keep accurate record of bank daily deposits.
- Set-up and clean-up after events.
- Maintain a balance sheet for each activity showing income, expenses, attendance and supplies used.
- Approve and code for payment all invoices in a timely manner and document all payments.
- Organize and supervise activity volunteers.
- Keep supply inventories.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are kept in good condition.
- Handle guests' inquiries and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Maintain the standards of sanitation and sterilization as required by law and the Company's policies and procedures

Essential Massage Therapist Functions:
- Perform quality massage therapy sessions and deep tissue work
- Design specific sessions based on client’s individual needs
- Promote the health and wellness benefits to clients
- Create excellent experience for guests through friendly and helpful attitude
- Generate new clientele through promoting member referral
- Help maintain professionalism and cleanliness of therapy rooms and common area
The requirements of the Licensed Massage Therapist:
- The Massage Therapist must adhere to local and state licensing laws and regulations
- Must have at least one (1) year of recent experience
- Must pass background check
- Understand and believe in the benefits of massage therapy
- Must be customer service oriented and able to communicate effectively with clients
- Knowledge of various modalities preferred
REPORTS TO
Lodge General Manager
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Current State License
Some college is preferred
Yoga and exercise instructor is a plus
Two years of similar work experience is a must
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Outstanding customer service and people skills
Excellent communication ad listening skills
Candidate must be very organized
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Knowledge of QuickBooks Pro is a plus
