Director of Sales and Marketing

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Achieve and exceed budgeted room nights and revenue goals annually.
Directly responsible for leading and managing sales segments.
Achieves catering and event revenues.
Direct and manage on property team including Marketing and Public Relations Manager.
Takes direction and partners with Brand or assigned Marketing Strategist on hotel positioning.
Partners with Area NY Director of Sales ensuring revenues are achieved from complex sales team.
Handles a key market; i.e., Brazil, Europe, Middle East or industry (entertainment.)
Analyze critical business/accounts and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue for the hotel while ensuring excellent customer service.
Ensures all tactical marketing is executed.
Ensures all collateral, giveaways, etc. are available for team.
Ensures trips and trade shows are executed.
Manages all partnership relationships; i.e., Relais and Chateaux, Virtuoso, Signature, FHR, etc.
Actively participate in sales presentations, property tours and client meetings.
Write and execute annual hotel strategy plan as well as property sales budget.
Manages property sales and marketing expenses.
Performs the role of industry spokesperson and representative for hotel.
Conducts all required sales meetings; ensures minutes are executed.
Develop rates, group ceilings and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management.
Works with Director of Revenue Management and General Manager to ensure accuracy for forecasting of revenues.
Has a strategic perspective by continuously developing our brand and integrating it into every aspect of the guest experience.
Completes weekly and monthly reports and enforces all Denihan required Standard Operating Procedures.
Reports directly to the General Manager with a dotted line to Regional Director of Sales.
Adds value and contributes to the overall performance and success of the hotel.
Perform other related duties as requested.

Comprehensive knowledge of technical and managerial applications of PMS, Delphi and appropriate PC applications.
Operational knowledge of reservations sales process.
Operational knowledge of national sales process.
Familiar with legal and contractual agreements.
Able to develop and manage budgets.
Able to develop and deliver effective training.
Knowledge of advertising and marketing functions.
Comprehensive knowledge of inbound markets and local trends.
Other Skill Requirements:
Participate as team player with other key executive members.
Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events.
Provide constructive feedback to all departments and to hotel sales and marketing leaders.
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Must possess leadership skills.
Must possess computer skills, including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
Able to access/evaluate employees performance fairly.
Extensive knowledge of revenue management.
Ability to recruit, supervise, train, motivate and retain multiple levels of managers.
Knowledge of hotel and competitive market.
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:
Luxury hotel experience required (NYC hotel experience preferred but not required.)
Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation.
Results oriented with an emphasis on both individual and team accountability.
Minimum of five years of sales and marketing; prior experience as a Director of Sales or Director of Sales and Marketing.
Desirable:
Delphi Knowledge.
Fluency in one of the following languages: Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic or Portuguese.
