We are currently seeking a Warehouse Manager for the KFC Yum Arena in Louisville, KY.
The University of Louisville men's and women's basketball teams will be the primary tenants in the arena complex, however, conventions, ice shows, and collegiate sport championships would also use the facility as well. It will be the fifth largest college basketball arena in the nation.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Directs the warehouse and product distribution for a large-scale operation. Must be a hard working knowledgeable individual with a positive attitude who understands the importance of following established procedures. Responsibilities include ordering, receiving, invoice coding, inventory, distribution, managing individuals, and assisting experienced Concessions Manager in addition to being responsible for scheduling warehouse staff and planning tasks to maximize efficiency. The manager will play a vital role in supervising and directing our staff to maintain the highest level of organization and cleanliness in all areas of our facility. In addition, this manager should possess or be willing to obtain a Serv-safe certification through the local Board of Health and complete alcohol training certification session.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and maintain efficient centralized warehousing operation by establishing control procedures for cataloging, inventory control, bulk storage and distribution of materials, equipment and supplies and assist in maintaining this supply system.
- Supervise, as necessary, clerical data entry staff involved in transmitting all warehousing documentation to the corporate office.
- Coordinate all warehousing activities with management officials and representatives from the corporate office.
- Plan and supervise receipt, storage and distribution of supplies and equipment in large centralized warehousing operations.
- Develop and implement storage systems, policies and procedures to ensure maximum use and efficiency of space and storage areas in warehousing operations.
- Supervise maintenance of facilities, material handling, equipment, and inventory warehousing control systems, manual or automated.
- Compile and submit regular reports of damage, outdated stock or supplies, over and under shipments, return of goods to vendor, etc.
- Contact vendors to reconcile invoice discrepancies, shortages, over shipments or to arrange for emergency shipments or requisitions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Required:
- Associate's degree.
- Five years experience in the receipt, storage or distribution of food and beverage supplies or equipment, including at least 3 years at the managerial level in an entertainment or convention center venue.
- Ability to promote and participate in a team environment.
- Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise. Requires occasional lifting of up to 10+ pounds in weight (boxes). Must be able to exert well-paced mobility to maneuver quickly among different areas of the facility. Hours are often extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
