Job Description
Upon its opening in 1915, The Claremont Hotel Club & Spa gained a reputation as a retreat on the sunny side of the bay for wealthy San Franciscans looking to escape the fog. The Claremont Hotel Club & Spa is now a Four-Diamond 279-room property boasting 30,000 square feet of meeting space and a 25,000 square foot spa. This beautiful resort is located on 22 acres overlooking San Francisco Bay, approximately 18 miles from Oakland International Airport and 25 miles from San Francisco International Airport. Hire, schedule, train, and supervise all banquet staff to include conducting roll call and monthly meetings, illustrating the proper techniques and etiquette for American, French, buffet, and parade types of service. Define performance requirements, develop action plans for achievement of goals, and monitor staff performance.
Supervise the set up of function rooms to include placement of linen, silver, china, and glassware according to event order specifications; visually inspect function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory and set up.
Verbally communicate, in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of function with the Culinary, Service, Beverage, Meetings and Conventions, and Engineering staffs, as well as the host to ensure timely execution of events, quality service and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations along with corporate standards.
Job Requirements
Education:
Any combination of education, training, or experience equivalent to graduation from college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; High school diploma required; College degree preferred.
Experience:
Two years as Assistant Banquet Management or food and beverage supervisory experience required.
Licenses or certificates:
Ability to obtain any and all licenses and certificates; CPR certification and First Aid training preferred.
