Job Description

 

Upon its opening in 1915, The Claremont Hotel  Club & Spa  gained a reputation as a retreat  on the sunny side of the bay  for wealthy San Franciscans looking to escape the fog. The Claremont Hotel Club & Spa is now a Four-Diamond 279-room property boasting 30,000 square feet of meeting space and a 25,000 square foot spa. This beautiful resort is  located on 22 acres overlooking San Francisco Bay, approximately 18 miles from Oakland International Airport and 25 miles from San Francisco International Airport.   •  Ordering/ purchasing of supplies for club operations.
  •  New Associate orientations and training.
  •  Hire front desk receptionists and club attendants.
  •  Scheduling for Laundry and Locker Room attendants.
  •  Support Club Administrator in all payroll administrations.
  •  Supervise Club Associates, especially in the absence of Club Director.
  •  Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of women's and men's locker rooms.
  •  Ensure the cleanliness of the Club including: the fitness center, the swimming pool deck area, the front lobby, tennis courts, and all other areas. Administer payroll (weekly)
  •  Supervise all Club Associates, especially in absence of Club Director.
  •  Supervise schedule of receptionists, club attendants and shift supervisors (monthly)
  •  Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of women's and men's locker rooms
  •  Ensure the cleanliness of The Club including: the fitness center, the outdoor swimming pool deck area, the front lobby, the tennis courts, and all other areas.
  •  Maintain inventory and ordering of supplies
  •  Supervise permanent locker distribution and payment. Update locker inventory (monthly)
  •  Cover operation of front desk and club attendants as needed
  •  Provide exceptional service to members
  •  Assist members in billing questions
  •  Follow up directly on members comments and concerns
  • Monitor the customer feedback program to ensure it's effective operation
  • Give prospective member tours in the absence or assistance to Membership Office.
  • Serve regular "Manager on Duty" shifts when scheduled
  • Enforce club rules and regulations
  • Administer a member retention program to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Regularly participate in and oversee all activities and events scheduled for members
  • Attend regularly scheduled managers' and staff meetings in The Club.
  • Attend company-wide meetings such as hotel operations, conference services and other all-staff meetings
  • Call new member immediately upon approval to schedule a New Member Orientation.
  • Create an Orientation Log.
  • Create Welcome Packets.
  • Provide new member orientation, conduct fitness evaluation, schedule complimentary fitness session, follow up within one week, invite new members to upcoming events, welcome them at the events, and orientate new members to the Club and Resort.
  • Maintain and up-date the fitness and swim resources and supplies at the Front Desk.
  • Assist members and their guests with dining, resort stays, and activities.
  • Assist with promotion and hosting of member events including New Member Reception.
  • Assist with the distribution of information regarding upcoming events.
  • Assist with lodging arrangements and banquet events.
  • Assist with obtaining member referrals from new members throughout orientation and direct to club sales office. (offer to new members complimentary guest passes for events)
  • Assist members, their families and invited guests with dining, activities/events arrangement.
  • Answer telephone, set fitness and swim appointments for all members, respond to voice mail messages.
  • Promote and assist with activities.
  • Field prospective member inquiries and direct to Club Marketing.
  • Assist members with basic complaints and problems. Record all member concerns, issues, incidents, suggestions and forward to Director of Operations and Director of Membership.
  • Ring all fitness and swim instruction in timely manner.
  • Build fitness revenue by assisting the Director (s) of Fitness with new instructor recruitment, scheduling of instruction, and implementing new classes.
  • Promote activities (fitness and events) with in the hotel. (i.e. in room marketing and concierge)

 

Job Requirements

 

Education Requirements:

  •  Bachelor's Degree

Experience Requirements:

  •  Minimum 2 years experience in the athletic club/resort industry.
  •  Minimum 1 year experience in club management.
  •  Basic knowledge of tennis, fitness, and aquatics.
