POSITION: Catering Manager
DEPARTMENT: Catering Sales
REPORTS TO: Catering Sales Director
FLSA STATUS: Salaried-Exempt

SAVOR…Chicago, the leading food service provider located at McCormick Place Convention Center has an immediate opening for a Catering Manager. This position will assist in the development of “Exhibit Floor Catering” and have a clear understanding of the roles and functions that food and beverage play within McCormick Place and the type of clientele that uses these services.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and effectively communicate Savor...Chicago policies and procedures related to Food Service.
  • Engage with clients prior to their arrival in order to analyze their purpose for choosing McCormick Place.
  • Effectively communicate with all internal teams, i.e., Banquets, Culinary, Stewarding, Restaurants, Purchasing, Accounting, CCTB, Hyatt and SMG.
  • Proactively reach out to groups/exhibitors at least 2 to 6 months in advance with information which will assist with placing orders in a timely manner.
  • Promptly follow up on customer calls and requests in an efficient and expedient manner.
  • Must have a demonstrated record of achieving objectives within time, cost and profitability parameters through a thorough understanding of the sales process.
  • Ability to interface effectively with operating management at all levels of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)
  • College Graduate with BA, BS in Marketing Business Administration or related course work.
  • 2-5 years experience in Sales, Food and Beverage, Marketing, etc.
  • Computer literate and must be able to type no less than 50 wpm (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Must be flexible, have a sense of urgency, be able to respond quickly and resourcefully to internal and external issues.
