Position Title: Director of Catering

 

3 Site Visits per Week (Wedding or Social)

25 Solicitation Calls Per Week (Past or New Business)

8 Outside Sales Calls per Month

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Deliver the best service, quality and value to every customer
  • Present a professional appearance and confidence
  • Maintain customer satisfaction - Customer is always right!
  • Ability to communicate effectively with public and other employees
  • Personally demonstrate a commitment to customer service by soliciting and responding promptly to all guests needs.
  • Level of service provided to key accounts and groups; meet or exceed customer expectations- WOW the client!
  • Ensure staff, including all new hires are trained to meet standards
  • Ensure staff is trained in financial/control procedures as outlined by the Controller and provide accurate and timely information for direct Billing, and all payment methods at the time of booking.
  • Working knowledge of banquet departments (sets, AV equipment, scheduling, menu planning)
  • Creativity in designing events
  • Assist in designing Catering and Wedding Menus to maximize profit
  • Know the department operating standards and hold team accountable for consistently meeting those standards.
  • Explain and measure expected results for catering department including setting up and maintaining approved filing systems, trace systems, keeping client's information organized according to standards
  • Meet deadlines and respond to all new leads within the same day received. ( phone, email, referral, fax)
  • Refer all leads with sleeping rooms to Tara
  • TRACE YOURSELF- Follow up on all leads within 3 days of response
  • TRACE YOURSELF- Follow up on ALL meetings, weddings, events for feedback within a week of the group's departure.
  • Create Contract and BEOs- ensure signature and payment method is confirmed before turning definite.
  • Actively solicit past business and new business opportunities
