The Sheraton Stamford Downtown has a new and exciting CAREER opportunity! We are currently searching for a team player to join our Sales and Catering team as our Convention Services Manager.

With 379 guest rooms and 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, our property provides a sophisticated and upscale ambiance, excellent service and exceptional accommodations with a twist! Located in the heart of downtown Stamford, you are within walking distance or a complimentary shuttle ride to the most important spots in Stamford and just a 45-minute train ride to New York City.

As a Convention Services Manager you are responsible for finalization of group event details, communicating with the meeting planner to ensure successful meetings, making food & beverage arrangements, and managing the overall operation of the convention banquet space. Additional opportunities unique to this position are elements of catering sales and planning services.

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
* 3+ years of Convention Services experience, preferably CMP certified.
* Good negotiation skills.
* Good verbal and written business communication skills.
* Understanding/knowledge of computers.
* Professional appearance and confidence.
* Ability to communicate effectively with public and other employees.
