The position is responsible for working with the property based Director of Sales and sales team to implement sales strategies that will continuously improve market share for the hotel. This person will be the liaison between the corporate office and their assigned hotel properties and will have the ability to plan a strategy and action plan for direct sales for existing and new properties.

 

Primary job responsibilities include:
- Participate in interviews for all sales/catering positions within region.
- Ensure that all sales managers have current EDP's and receive reviews in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all sales/catering managers understand the CARE incentive and that all DOS's understand how to write effective goals.
- Mentor and educate DOS's through weekly calls: assess their level of expertise to help them grow and make sure to uncover opportunities and challenges at each property. Participate when on property or via conference call.
- Conduct weekly sales/revenue calls covering: GRC, rate strategies, future outlook, STR and action plans. On a monthly basis cover: STR, hotelligence, LNR tracking and CARE, discuss trends and how we improve them.
- Ensure that DOS's are conducting weekly 1x1's with each sales manager and that they are conducting effective monthly sales meetings with a training component. 
- Ensure that Delta meetings are rolled out effectively and presented successfully.
- Celebrate successes with each property team when CARE goals are achieved and when big bookings are booked.
- Build/maintain relationships and trust with property based team through consistent performance and honest communication
- Assist and represent Prism when presenting for new business.
- Communicate regularly with Vice President, Sales regarding progress toward goals, resources needed and resources consumed. Use company resources to enhance both personal and professional performance.
- Model proper sales skills to others, takes a leadership role through personal development and development of others.
- Develop relationships with market CVB leaders for each property.
- Develop relationships with brand representatives, participate in relevant programs and gain an understanding of their specific sales tools (Knowledgenet, Hilton Net, etc).
- Meet top accounts for each hotel and on quarterly basis meet 3 target accounts for each property.
- Exceed budgeted rooms revenues and demonstrate positive RevPar penetration growth for each hotel and the region as a whole.
- Ensure that sales shops meet the company standard of 85% and show improvement month over month.
- Continue to encourage and display creativity by participating in property blitzes and sites.
- Ensure marketing dollars are spent within budget and have clearly defined ROI expectations.
- Ensure all collateral truly represents the appropriate image and tone for the properties.
- Provide leadership in determining overall strategic direction of sales department at each hotel.
- Maintain a good awareness of market conditions, pricing trends, seasonality and mix.
- Actively participate in budgeting and marketing plan process.
- Assist hotels with forecasting, ensuring +/- 5% accuracy.
- Be knowledgeable about hotel performance to update RVP's proactively and when requested.
- Implement quarterly "Best Practice" calls with DOS's from hotels within region.  

Education/Experience:
* College degree or equivalent.
* Four years experience in sales and supervisory experience desirable with at least two years of multi-unit/regional experience. Experience in both Revenue Management and Sales specialization required. 
* Hilton and/or Marriott background preferred.

* Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel are required.
* Experience with hotel computer systems including Delphi, Sales Pro, and other hotel reservation and property management systems a plus.
* Planning and organizational abilities.

 


Working Conditions:
* The ideal candidate will be Dallas based however, an open consideration will be given to other metro areas.
* Extensive Travel
