Job Description

The newly branded Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa is the centerpiece of the 3,600-acre Lake Las Vegas hotel community in Henderson, Nevada. Individual will be responsible for all aspects of transient revenues through direct sales, travel, trade shows, prospecting, strategic planning and marketing. The individual shall manage all wholesale, FIT, Tour and Travel, retail, consortia, BTI and on-line relationships.
This position demands an innovative approach to the sales process in contacting and capturing potential clients. Must be able to utilize the Internet and other electronic media to maximize the property's exposure to new contacts, via third-party website, etc. Target appropriate AAA agencies to drive seasonal transient business into the hotel, coordinating FAMS and site inspections, increasing receptive FIT production, developing new business out of targeted segments in the primary (California and Nevada) and secondary feeder markets targeting any local corporate volume accounts and offer special volume rates, conducting ongoing regional and national sales trips calling on prospective accounts.
Other duties include actively generating sales leads through direct sales efforts, managing new client relationships, revenue management, working closely with all departments to deliver a positive experience for the guest. Individual is also responsible for compiling competitive intelligence daily, weekly and monthly reports.
Job Requirements
- Requires 3 to 5 years direct sales experience with transient leisure sales.
- Business degree or related professional qualification.
- Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy
- Knowledge of budgeting and planning.
- Technical sales skills.
- Proven experience in customer relationship management.
- Knowledge of market research.
- Experience in managing and directing a sales team.
- Relevant product and industry knowledge.
- Experience with relevant software applications.
- Interpersonal and computer skills needed to cultivate customer relations and work with staff of various levels and backgrounds.
- Candidate should have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals, and demonstrate a winning selling style.
- Strong sales and effective negotiation skills and strategic thinking.
- Strong sales experience a must, along with experience managing others.
- Self-starter, able to delegate duties.
- Able to uphold the Starwood Westin standards of service, professionalism and the ability to lead by example.
- Use of Delphi.
- Ability to analyze data and establish action plans.
- Must be professional and outgoing.
- Knowledge of hotel/resort infrastructure.
