Position: Director of Revenue Management

Position Summary:

The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for the management of all aspects of revenue generation at the property to include pricing, distribution, promotions, group evaluation, leisure and corporate revenue production, food & beverage sales, and market penetration.  This effort includes working directly with the Director of Marketing as a business partner in the execution of rate strategies through distribution channels and within the daily operation of an extremely busy and evolving environment.  This individual must maintain effective relationships with all team leaders by both offering support and direction while maximizing total revenue opportunities.  

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Execute a revenue management strategy consistent with design of local and corporate goals while understanding the delicate balance between guest relationships and hotel revenue goals.

Work closely with Director of Marketing on group booking strategies, yielding, and forecasting of all revenue impacting areas of group business to include both Rooms and F&B divisions

Clear understanding of the GDS, while working with provider to include seamless rate displays, sequencing, property HOD’s.

Create monthly report for P & L Statement, recapping monthly strategy and results, budget to actual.

Take a leadership role in communication between hotel executive committee, corporate, ownership, operations, and technology partners.

Manages IDEAS revenue management system - follows daily/weekly checklists.

Analyze market reports such as rate reports and other marketplace measurement tools and present the revenue opportunities.

Conduct weekly revenue management meetings and give a synopsis of past strategies results and lead the discussion on current/future issues. 

Effectively incorporate the revenue management philosophy in all aspects of sales, marketing, and operations.

Manage inventory and rate structure to optimize revenues and margins consistent with the direction of Loews Hotels.

Maintain performance measures of marketing efforts to analyze property program specific return on investments.

Maintain a global reporting structure, where information is shared, analyzed, and fed back into the operations. 

Future bookings trends to be developed using the existing technology and manual input.

Pricing strategies to be developed including an emphasis on Corporate Reservations training guidelines.

Forecasting would be demand-based to coincide with pricing strategies.

Consistently evaluate inventory selling process.

Develop and maintain long term and short term group booking parameters

Explore market mix variations that would stimulate revenue.

Oversee and evaluate the effectiveness of any internal incentive programs with clear payback analysis.

Establish and maintain rate quotation strategies within the reservations department.
 

Required Skills and Experience:

Minimum three years progressive hotel management/revenue/reservations experience at a large four-star or four-diamond luxury or upper upscale hotel or resort or other related experience.

Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred. 

Outstanding planning, organization, presentation and communication skills required.

Strong analytical skills.

Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of hotels operations and revenue management process.

Proven track record in the hotel industry demonstrating achievement of outstanding profit and revenue related goals.

Sound understanding of STAR, property daily and month end revenue-reporting results.

Ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision/information given.

Able to travel as needed and work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
