POSITION PURPOSE:  To deliver Room Service orders accurately and efficiently in a helpful, friendly, courteous, and professional manner. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Prepare trays and deliver products to rooms.
  2. Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.
  3. Maintain complete guest satisfaction by adhering to service standards.
  4. Check floors to ensure all trays and carts are retrieved.
  5. Return room service equipment from guest floors/public areas of hotel to appropriate dish room areas in order to keep public areas presentable.
  6. Sort and clean tables and trays so that equipment is available for future orders.
  7. Prepare and deliver guest amenities.
  8. Keep room services areas clean.
  9. Order and maintain food supplies.
  10. Perform side work (open, close and shift maintenance duties).
  11. Pick up clean linen from Banquets and return dirty linen to shipping dock.
  12. Distribute proper change and maintain cash orders.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Knowledge of the appropriate food and beverage preparations and service standards. 
  2. Limited knowledge of beverages and wines.
  3. Knowledge of all menu items and accompaniments.
  4. Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate preparation methods.  Ability to comprehend written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
  5. Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  6. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise transport up to 50 lbs.
  7. Knowledge of local attractions.
  8. Knowledge of proper etiquette and manners.
  9. Ability to multi-task.
  10. Ability to work among a team atmosphere as well as alone.
  11. Ability to perform duties in strict time parameters.
  12. Ability to maintain service standards.
  13. High school diploma or GED preferred.
  14. No prior experience required.
