POSITION PURPOSE:      

This position is a working supervisory position. The Senior Engineer will assist the Director of Facilities by completing all assigned job duties and to assist with the oversight of the Engineering department and Operate, Maintain and Trouble Shoot HVAC Equipment. Have a good working knowledge Hotel Engineering; Kitchen Equipment, Plumbing, Pneumatic and Electronic Controls.

In this position, the Senior Engineer/HVAC Technician will help to ensure that all physical building assets and equipment remain in good repair with a minimum of down time. This is accomplished by performing day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance projects in the hotel, as well as by guiding and supporting fellow engineers on the completion of their assignments.  While utilizing knowledge, skills, and experience, this position works towards continuous improvement of guest services and support systems that affect both internal and external customers and guests.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain all HVAC and Refrigeration Systems within the Hotel

2. Maintain stock of Materials.

3. Assist in preventative maintenance programs on air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment.

4. Ensure all daily assignments are completed in a timely manner.

5. Responsible for keeping work areas and mechanical closets neat and clean at all times.

6. Basic understanding of Plumbing, Piping systems and Electricity.

7. Provides daily Condition and Work Progress report to the Director of Engineering.

8. Supervises, directs and inspects the Engineers on a daily basis to insure their work productivity and quality meets standards and deadlines.

9. Interacts as needed with guests, contractors, vendors.

10. Conducts regular inspections via walk-thrus of public areas, back of the house areas, guest rooms and exterior areas.

11. Performs any other reasonable job duty as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. CFC Certification for Refrigerant handling.

2. Must be able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings and overnight.

3. Speak, Read and Write English

4. Stand for at least eight (8) hours.

5. Ability to Lift, Push, Pull and Carry up to 50lbs.

6. Minimum of 3 years experience in Hotel or related A/C repair service.

7. Must be able to read and interpret documents to include:  Blueprints/Schematics, Procedure manuals, OSHA standards such as LockOut/TagOut, MSDS, etc.

8. Possess the individual ability to troubleshoot, repair and/or maintain all of the following:

  • Physical building to include all FF&E
  • A/C and refrigeration equipment
  • Electrical systems
  • Mechanical equipment (i.e. motors, starters, pumps, fans, etc.)
  • Plumbing and drains
  • Pneumatic and electronic systems and controls
  • Fire Alarm and Life Safety equipment

9. Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.

10. Analytical skills in order to be able to assess and identify problems and then implement solutions.

11. Represent the hotel and company in a courteous and professional manner at all times.

12. Must be able to safely use hand and power tools.
