Housekeeping Floor Supervisor

This is not just any hotel, this is a new LEGOLAND® Hotel concept.  The LEGOLAND Hotel will have 250 rooms and will naturally feature LEGO throughout the Hotel.

Key Objectives:

1. Oversees housekeeping function on guest floors to ensure adequate staffing and equipment to maintain a comfortable environment.
2. Supervises housekeeping personnel. Trains employees in the use of various equipment and solutions.
3. Inspects hotel areas to ensure satisfactory completion of work and takes corrective action as necessary.
4. Prepares activity and employee performance reports for submission to management, including reports on work completion, incidents and/or unusual circumstances.
5. Distributes all necessary cleaning supplies and equipment to working staff.

Main Responsibilities:

• Use correct labeled chemicals for designated surfaces, according to the hotels regulations and hotel requirements.
• Willingness to accept the most effective role.
• Manage lost and found when necessary.
• Checks unoccupied rooms to ensure accuracy of housekeeping and front office reports.
• Oversees the activities and actions of assigned personnel.
• Inspects clean and vacant rooms for cleanliness, supplies, maintenance problems, and temperature of guest rooms.
• Completes and communicates maintenance work orders to the Housekeeping Manager & Assistant Housekeeping Manager.
• Inspects assigned stay over rooms for cleanliness, supplies and precautionary damage concerns.
• Ensures linen storage rooms are stocked & cleaned.
• Ensures that all garbage bins on their assigned floors are always cleared and cleaned.
• Ensures all housekeepers carts are cleaned, organized and properly inventoried for the next day’s activities before end of shift.
• Keeps hallways, ice/vending areas and stairways clean and free of obstructions. (Furniture, trash etc.)
• Supervisor all room attendants and reports back to the Housekeeping Manager/Assistant if anything has occurred.
• Evaluates productivity and quality of work of each staff member and determines additional training when necessary.
• Ensures all employees have reported in and out each shift.
• Turn over all vacant and clean rooms, verifies stay over’s; reports early check outs; communicates issues and discrepancies with the front desk.
• Conducts room attendant/housemen performance appraisals in a timely manner.
• Trains new employees and provides continued training for current employees.
• Attend all pre-shift meetings when necessary.
• Ensures all Lego bins are filled to required volume between each check out.
• Inspect Lego models in the guest rooms for any damages or loose pieces and report them.
• Update the Opera Software daily. (updating all room status’s)
• Must be able to manage a team by giving direction when needed.

Previous relevant experience preferred. 1 to 3 year supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to communicate using a telephone or radio.
• Ability to operate office equipment (i.e., computer, copier, and fax).
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management, staff, and co-workers.
• Ability to understand commands, questions, and instructions from supervisors and co-workers. Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
