Opportunity: Director of Hotel Architecture and Design
Managethe review process for planning and design of hotel construction and renovation projects.
Essential Job Functions
Review, analyze, and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Inspect construction materials, construction work, and prepare inspection diary.
Follow up with contractors, architect for submittals, RFI, change orders, punch list., etc.
Assist in preparing construction contract documents per AIA.
Prepare cost estimate for the construction items associated with the Hotels' property improvement plans in accordance with franchise requirements.
Participate in selection of material, finishes, etc., for on-going construction projects.
Attend and/or conduct periodical meetings with architect and contractors.
Periodical review of budget & provision to ensure alignment with project cost.
Monitor project schedule to ensure timely completion of projects.
Review contractor's requisite, compare with completed quantity, ensure quality, spec compliance, and schedule of values; then process for payment.
Coordinate with the county and township engineers/employees for securing permits/inspections and to attend meetings, as and when required during approval phase of site drawings.
Prepare purchase orders & review invoices of contractors/suppliers.
Prepare bank draws for cash flow and monitor for closing documents of project.
Assist in resolving mechanical, electrical, surface water, plumbing, building structure, roofing related maintenance issues and emergency call for the hotels.
Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program.
Practice safe work habits.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design or a related field, Master's degree preferred.
3 years related experience.
Previous experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
Ability to Utilize STR reports, P&L's and balance sheets to develop supportable projections.
Mastery of Excel is critical.
Work Environment and Context
Frequent travel required.
Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate keyboard.
