Position: Banquet Manager

Position Summary:

  • Schedules for captains, servers.
  • Conducts daily meetings with chef and stewarding manager to plan daily banquet activities.
  • Attends all pre-convention meetings.
  • Orders linen as needed and retrieval on a timely basis.
  • Organizes all daily meal periods.
  • Trains and supervises team members to properly service functions.
  • Conducts team member training and ensures standard levels are met.
  • Review daily events with banquet staff.
  • Controls payroll.
  • Ensures quality food is being delivered from banquet kitchen to banquet functions.
  • Controls service and ensure its quality.
  • Evaluates daily work performances (server & captains).  Provides coaching, counseling, and discipline when required.
  • Attends all appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

This position requires 3-5+ years experience in a four-five diamond luxury hotel environment. Must have acute knowledge of high-end banquet, banquet setup and beverage service, event execution, and effective leadership techniques. Candidates must be results driven, multi-task oriented, positive, and talented at communicating with both event planners and food and beverage team.
