The Hilton Old Town has an immediate opening for a part time Night Auditor. Our hotel offers a refreshing blend of modern elegance near quaint waterfront galleries and shops in Old Town Alexandria, VA. We're seeking individuals who share our belief in the importance of providing the highest quality service and who are intelligent, friendly and hospitable. A big smile and hard-working mentality are very important. Must be a team player and service oriented with the ability to multi-task.
The Night Auditor is responsible for providing excellent customer service and balancing the hotel's daily revenue and expense transactions. Computer skills are necessary to review the status of guest accounts, update the system as needed, and operate the reservations and hotel management system. Duties include following proper audit procedures to balance the hotel's daily revenue and expense transactions; identifying the causes of out-of-balance situations in a timely manner; producing various reports for management; ensuring that all charges of the day have been properly posted to the appropriate guest folio or master account; ensuring that all front office charges, and miscellaneous charges and adjustments have been posted and balanced out; ensuring that all guest charges have been balanced and all appropriate reports have been run and all supporting documentation is attached to the appropriate reports; posting room and tax to each guest folio; reviewing and analyzing all adjustments; ensuring that each cashier outlet has been properly completed and balanced; answering telephones; and finally-checking guests in and out. Knowledge of the surrounding area is important as guests will inquire about the location of areas of interest and available services. Applicants should be able to stand for long periods of time and remain poised during stressful situations.
