Job Description
The Ameristar Casino Resort Spa located in Black Hawk, Colorado is the premiere gaming, entertainment and resort destination of Colorado. Located 40 miles west of the mile high city of Denver in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Ameristar features an exciting casino, a variety of fine dining restaurants and a four diamond rated hotel. Our 55,000 square foot gaming floor is home to around 1,500 of the newest slot products and the hottest games in the market. Our spacious 24 table pit includes the games of craps, blackjack and roulette. Ameristar also has the largest poker room in the state of Colorado. Safety Requirement:
Safety is a core value at Ameristar and vital to our operation. The ability to work safely and prevent personal injury is a key job requirement of every position and very important to our organization. If an unsafe condition is identified, each Team Member is expected to correct or report the condition.
Position Summary- Provides and maintains a safe and secure environment for our guests and team members. The security officer will also protect the assets of the casino and hotel, provide top quality guest service and prevent underage gaming and alcohol consumption.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintains the highest level of guest service and professionalism at all times.
* Provides continuous patrol by foot of the casino, hotel and surrounding areas owned by the casino. Identify and address any suspicious persons or vehicles and or minors entering the casino or being left in the parking lots.
* Checks identification of any patron under the age of 30.
* Assists supervisors or team members preparing detail reports on any security related incidents occurring on company property.
* Escorts and transports funds for table fills, slots and or banks. Provide security for money drops to include tables and slots. Provides escorts in sensitive areas for all non-gaming team members i.e.; maintenance, repair companies and or cleaning personnel.
* Responds to disturbances and alarms and provides security for both guests and team members.
* May be required to operate security dispatch to include dispatching officers, maintaining key control and maintaining all logs required in the dispatch center.
* Addresses any type of medical situations on property and ensures proper emergency contacts are notified if necessary.
* Is responsible for ensuring gaming compliance throughout the casino.
* Works with and oversees a variety of gaming oprations to make sure assets are protected and compliance is maintained.
* Assists team members and departments with daily operations.
* This is a uniformed position, which requires that team member’s are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty.
Job Requirements
* Strong problem solving, mediation, coaching, and consulting skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledgeable of applicable state laws and gaming regulations and casino standard operating procedures.
* Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
* Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
* Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with guests and team members at all levels of the organization.
* Highly organized and detail-oriented
* Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of an 8 or 10 hour shift.
* Able to remain calm in emergency or stressful situations
* Must have previous experience in guest service related field.
* Excellent verbal communication skills required.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Gaming License.
* Strong customer service skills required.
