Job Description

The City Sales Manager (based in Orlando) will represent all three South Florida Kimpton Properties  - EPIC, Vero Beach Resort and Spa and Surfcomber South Beach. This position is Satellite and will work remotely from home, based out of the Orlando area.  This area of Orlando and the 100 mile radius area around it is a strong selling Market for both Miami and Vero Beach.

Note: This is an Orlando based Home office sales position for all three hotels and responsible for the North, central portion of FL and parts of the Southeast. Those best suited for this role will have worked in this market prior, understands the internal drive needed for a successful Home office working environment inclusive of but not limited to heavy telephone solicitation, outside local sales calls and travel within the prescribed area, and Local Community involvement.

Utilize effective Selling skills to engage new business, present personalized creative proposals, sales presentations, and negotiate contracts on behalf of each of the Hotels or Resort. This position will require travel throughout the geographic region assigned, as well as to the Hotel and or Resort on an ad needed basis to accompany customers on Site inspections and at times pre planning visits.

Duties:

Solicit using a pre-determined Delphi database of accounts and or purchased lists of group meeting planners

  • Contract group and convention business to a mutually agreed upon goal within an assigned region for all three hotels - Surfcomber, EPIC and Vero Beach.
  • Telemarket on regular basis to those databases assigned and complete on a timely basis.
  • Conduct in person sales calls every other week to all Group accounts within a 100 mile drive radius as outlined in Delphi and those new accounts created as a result of telemarketing efforts. 
  • Prepare, construct, present creative customer proposals, and negotiate contracts on any one of the hotels / resorts behalf.
  • Create and enforce the site inspection process, that delivers an exciting and memorable visit that is also comprehensive and understanding to the customers needs.
  • May be called upon to entertain clients in the evening hours both on property and off.
  • Entertain is defined as but not limited to: taking clients to breakfast, lunch or dinner, meet for drinks, go off property to Destination attractions.
  • Provide department colleagues with proper communication that will enhance our ability to deliver exceptional service.
  • Attend Sales meetings on property a minimum of 1 time per month.
  • Attend Sales meetings via speaker phone each week for each hotel.
  • For groups that require 100 room nights or more an on property Site inspection should occur. This will require the Sales Executive to arrive on property the day prior to the site to insure all aspects of the site are firmly in place and communicated to the team. As a result of the above expectation this person must be able to carry a flexible work schedule.
  • For groups that require under 100 room nights total, the site inspection process will be pre determined with each of the Hotels - DOSM involved.    
  • Ideally this person should be Bilingual (English and Spanish) but it is not a requirement.
  • Person must be able to communicate well in English (Orally and written).
  • Position will be eligible to receive sales incentive compensation based on attainment of predetermined goals.
  • Input all customer related information into the SALES automation system (Delphi).
  • Maintain running travel calendar and communicate said travel calendar to the appropriate departments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Proficient at all levels of English, to include reading, writing, and speaking. Equally as proficient in Spanish is not required but considered a plus
Able to read and Interpret financial statements
Able to create and conduct presentations to top management, peers, clients that is creative, informative, and presents our/your point respectfully and timely.
Computer literate in (but not limited to) Microsoft Word, Delphi Sales Systems, Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Meeting Matrix etc…

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount, commission, proportions, percentages, and build formulas using excel


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
