The Regional Market Manager is responsible for maximizing revenues and gross profits through the ARES Travel Network. Must have strong relationship/people skills, knowledge of analytics, hospitality background, and the ability to work close with and manage all ARES partner hotels, attractions, and affiliates. The Regional Market Manager is the primary point of contact for all hotel and activity supplier partners. Responsibilities: * Develop, enhance and maintain regular and consistent partner contact with newly contracted hotel partners at the property level and, when appropriate, with chain level regional managers. The Market Manager should strive to build strong relationships with partners to ensure quality assurance and strong partnerships. * Support partners in managing inventory, rates, and yield management strategies to ensure maximized profits in all systems sourced by ARES. Train new hotel partners on the extranet functionalities and best practices. * Offer marketing solutions through ARES custom merchandising programs. These programs include, but are not limited to, deals, packages, preferred margins, ranking, and best practice solutions. * Ultimately responsible for execution of merchandising opportunities, including build-out and activation. * Understand and acknowledge high/low occupancy periods for all assigned markets. Create and maintain calendars for key events while developing and executing plans for meeting market demand. * Negotiate directly with hotel management to obtain favorable room allocations, rates, and additional inventory during compressed periods. * Analyze rate and inventory reports to gain in-depth understanding of partners in assigned markets. Monitor partner performance. * Monitor and analyze weekly/monthly sales reports to track progress and performance of partners and markets. * Monitor contractual performance by partners and address any problems or concerns, including bi-weekly rate parity reports. * Attend industry events and tradeshows and developmental trainings to enhance performance. * Conduct a minimum of 10-15 in person meetings in the designated market each week. * Understand, promote and inform hotel partners about affiliate overall relationship and opportunities. |
| Job Requirements: | Requirements and Skills:
* Strong analytical, organization, communication and people skills. * Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations. * Ability to analyze and interpret financial metrics to drive revenue. * Working knowledge of revenue/account management. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. * Ability to build and maintain strong and long term relationships. * Ability to work and thrive in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment. * Professional "get it done" attitude and work ethic. * Existing industry/market relationships. * Independent, self motivated. Education/Training: B.S. in Hospitality Management preferred. Experience: 5-10 years progressive experience in hotel/travel industry. Prior experience as a hotel Sales or Revenue Manager preferred. |
