Job Description
The Omni Mandalay is currently seeking an energetic,
detail oriented, Convention Services Manager with a
proven and verifiable track record of exceeding guest
satisfaction, strong communication skills and has the
ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
This position will be responsible for the following:
* Detailing and servicing all size groups.
* Attending required daily meetings including Stand-Up
Meetings and BEO Meeting; attends weekly Operations
Meeting, monthly Medallia Issue Prevention Meeting and
Departmental OST Meeting.
* Ensures all procedures, policies, and guidelines are
being followed.
* Establishes and maintains efficient office procedures
to facilitate the smooth operation of the department.
* Prepares custom food and beverage menus, menu pricing
and has the ability to cost out menus.
* Up-sells food and beverage menus to maximize guest
satisfaction and hotel revenues.
* Coordination and execution of timely group resumes.
* Conducts hotel site inspections and pre-planning
meetings when necessary.
* Conducts Pre-Convention Meetings with meeting planners
and appropriate department heads.
* Arranges for Post-Con meetings with meeting planner
and Executive Committee.
* Ability to work cohesively with all levels of
Associates.
* Ability to motivate others and create a work
environment that encourages others to work towards
achieving individual and team goals.
* Conflict management skills; managerial courage
* Strong business communication skills.
* Innovation Management; ability to develop and apply
creative and innovative ideas and practices into menu
and event planning.
* Working knowledge of banquet department (sets, AV
equipment, scheduling, menu planning).
* Culture: understands the importance of company culture
and aligns their actions and those of others to drive
the desired culture
