Doubletree Guest Suites Houston by the Galleria hotel -- Houston's only all-suite, full-service, luxury hotel. We are located in the heart of the Uptown/Galleria area, famous for world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment venues and within close proximity to Reliant Center, Museum District, Houston Zoo, Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park and the Verizon Wireless Theatre. We are also just minutes away from Houston's Central Business District, and both Hobby Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport are only 30-45 minutes away.

Assist as a part of the Engineering team to maintain the entire hotel facility, including physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C. systems and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs adhere to hotel specifications and standards in repairing, servicing, inspecting, testing, and maintenance of furniture, fixtures, equipment (FF&E) and facilities.

- Adhere to federal, state and local regulations concerning safety and other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policy and procedures to ensure quality, safety, and consistency. Report all unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor. May educate and train hotel staff in the safe and proper use of equipment.

- Follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions etc., replenishes supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and minimizes waste. Assist with other duties as assigned.

Competencies

Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional certification and license if required by law. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

1.Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel
2.Conduct daily walk-through and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance of physical structure(s) of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C and all other hotel systems and related equipment
3.Replace non-operating TV's and phones in the hotel rooms and other equipment as necessary
4.Replace AC/heating filters in the guest rooms, hotel offices, etc.
5.Replace light bulbs throughout the facility
6.Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and cleaning programs
7.Notify supervisor on duty in the event of equipment or system failure
8.Repair minor plumbing or other system problems as requested
9.Deliver or pick up various parts, machinery, etc.
10.Diagnose lock problems and repair/replace the unit if directed to do so by the Director of Engineering
11.Observe O.S.H.A. health and safety rules and regulations
12.Ensure that all work is done is in accordance with jurisdictional codes as well as manufacturer's recommendations
13.Report and act upon any unsafe acts, conditions and injuries promptly
14.Assist with fire safety, first aid, C.P.R. and emergency preparedness classes
15.Adhere at all times to the highest standards of professional, personal, and ethical conduct, as well as, policies, procedures and property rules
16.Assist with the development and implementation of various emergency response procedures and training as required to meet all applicable state and federal laws
17.Assist in helping with guest concerns and complaints

Job Requirements

1.High school diploma or equivalent required
2.Trade or vocational school graduate or equivalent experience preferred but not required
3.One (1) - three (3) year's work experience in building maintenance and/or hotel industry is preferred
4.Ability to read and understand various written communications, work orders, repair manuals and instructions in English
5.Ability to perform mathematical calculations for various maintenance projects
6.Ability to communicate verbally over the phone and in person with internal and external customers in English
7.Ability to communicate in writing in order to provide maintenance reports and complete work orders and assignments in English
8.Ability to work flexible schedule based on operational needs
9.Must be willing and able to assist and others inside and outside the department
10.Possess a positive service oriented attitude toward our guests, our employees and our company
