Position: National Sales Manager
Position Summary:
The National Sales Manager position requires a minimum of three to five years of sales experience in the corporate market and is responsible for developing and maintaining a national account base for the Hotel. The person must be skilled in maintaining these accounts through sales action plans, specific documentation in Delphi and clear and concise correspondence. The major responsibility is developing and maintaining a national and regional account base of corporations, which can produce revenue beneficial to the hotel's needs. This includes timely follow up on all assigned sales leads, cold calling to generate leads and implementation of a sales action plan for the development of the designated market segments that includes (but is not limited to) telephone and direct mail solicitation, personal call program, related sales trips, trade show participation and entertainment. This position does require evenings and weekends with regards to participation in networking functions, overnight training, and other duties or responsibilities as assigned. Some travel required. The position reports directly to the Hotel Director of Sales and Marketing. The ideal candidate will receive a competitive salary plus participation in a sales bonus plan, which will be outlined at the time of hire. Required Skills and Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of hotel sales management experience, handling the corporate market, for an upper upscale hotel brand. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Sales Manager in a similar size hotel of similar quality, and will also have an understanding of the local market and surrounding areas. He or she must have a proven record of excellence through meeting or exceeding annual goals, as well as a history of going above and beyond with customer service. Additionally the candidate will also have strong communication skills and be able to properly represent the hotel by meeting the standards for timely follow up with customers, prospects, lead referrals as well as internal team members. Excellent organizational skills are necessary to be successful in this position, as well as detail orientation. Polished and professional presentation skills are required - candidate must be able to represent Loews in a professional manner at trade shows, networking events and through excellent written and verbal communication and etiquette. Additionally, a thorough understanding and knowledge of hotel operations is also necessary, as is the ability to work a flexible work schedule. Computer skills: Word, Excel, Delphi, Opera preferred.
