We are currently seeking a Part - Time Concessions Supervisor for the Prudential Center, home of the Professional Hockey League, the New Jersey Devils. This brand new, 18,000-seat arena and entertainment complex is located in the heart of Newark, NJ, the state's largest city.

Responsibilities of the Concessions Supervisor include, but are not limited to: Overseeing the Concession Stand Operations from opening to closing events and maintaining the food standards set by the company.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Supervise stand crew and ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed.
*Act as a liaison for management and workers. Communicate with management and inform them of problems within the stand (or with customers).
*Report personnel problems. Employees to be in proper uniform and proper appearance.
*Ensure your stand is completely set up prior to opening time of events.
*Ensure your assigned Concession Stand is set up and maintained to meet Centerplate's standards.
*Make certain the stand and surrounding areas are kept in sanitary condition before, during and after the event.
*Ensure all employees within the stand are using proper food handling procedures.
*Prepare stand sheets and event closing procedures.
*Assist with sales and labor forecasting.
*Conducts daily inspection of concessions stands and portables to ensure clean and sanitary work areas.
* Ensure all cash handling and cash register functions are performed in an accurate and consistent manner.
* Maintain food costs controls (i.e. managing spoilage).
*Organize product as necessary.
*Train and develop partners to demonstrate all concepts of customer service standards, and operational standards.
*Complete all employee counseling notices and distribute in a timely manner.
*Work closely with the Human Resources Department to ensure compliance with the union contract.
*Ensures all areas, front counter, hot dog rollers, fryers, grills, floors, condiment table, front stand area, soda equipment, etc. are clean and in proper working order.
*Responsible for accuracy and completion of opening and closing inventories, deliveries, transfers, requisitions and spoilage. Note; any discrepancies should be reported immediately.
*Responsible for all cash, inventories and company assets (equipment, keys, small wares, tools and supplies) in your stand.
*Ensure menu board spelling and prices are correct and neat.
*Responsible to train staff in proper Customer Service Philosophy and technique.
*Oversee the staff to insure the demands of the stand are being met.
* Notify the appropriate supervisor if any equipment is not working properly.
* Listen to customer concerns and issues, resolve those that can be and inform the appropriate supervisor.
* Ensure prompt and friendly service.
* Ensure to food quality.
* Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
Job Requirements: Required:

*Familiar with cash register and cash handling procedures.
*Familiar with counting of stand inventory.
*Take and Maintain TIPS Certification.
*Ability to multi-task and organize.
*Ability to perform basic math, using monetary units (currency).
*Ability to communicate in writing or verbally and receive the same.
*Ability to count currency and/or inventory with accuracy.
*Previous and verifiable management experience
*ServSafe Certified (or the ability to become certified within ninety days of hire).
*Ability to promote and participate in a team environment
*Proven management experience.
NOTE: Union experience preferred, but not required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift. Must be able to frequently lift and carry food and other items weighing up to 45 pounds and occasionally greater. Must be able to go from warm to cold climates (workstation to coolers). Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
