Upscale Central Jersey Hotel with banquet facilities in search of EXPERIENCED Maitre'd!

This Maitre'd is responsible for achieving banquet customer satisfaction by ensuring successful planning, coordinating and management of scheduled events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Hire, schedule, and train all banquet staff to include conducting monthly meetings, and illustrating the proper techniques and etiquette for proper service. Monitor staff performance. Define performance requirements and develop action plans for achievement of goals.

Supervise the set-up of function rooms to include placement of linens, silver, china and glassware according to the event order specifications. Visually inspect function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory and set-up.

Verbally communicate in a positive manner during the course of the function with the kitchen, service, beverage, and engineering staff, as well as the guest host to ensure timely execution of events, and quality service.

Supervise clean up of function rooms, and proper breakdown and storage of equipment.

Enter billing information into micro system in order to generate a final guest check.

Check staff attendance according to schedules, adjust and reassign server stations, as necessary, in order to provide quality service during functions.

Attend meetings such as BEO meetings.

Separate, post and distribute event order sheets.

Assist servers and captains with the executions of events according to the event orders.

Prepare guest checks and posting revenues.

Review banquet event orders and prepare function sheet for staff.

Monitor and attend to inventory of banquet china, silver and glassware.

Coordinate details for scheduled events with various departments.

Conduct final appointment with clients to review all details prior to event.

Due to the cyclical nature of hospitality, employees are required to work varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays to accommodate the business needs of the hotel.
You must have at least 2 years Maitre'd experience in an upscale/ white glove establishment
