Job Description
Job Title: Line Cook

Department: Food

Reports to: Executive Chef and Sous Chef

Basic Purpose:
Prepare food items and assist executive and sous chef before, during, and after service.

Essential Functions:
1. Setup line and prep food items for service on a daily basis (30%)
2. Keep stations clean, organized, and fresh daily (5%)
3. Cook appropriate items at your station according to what business asks (30%)
4. Maintain appropriate temperatures for walkins, meats/poultry, etc. (5%)
5. Assists Executive Chef and Sous chef with training new kitchen personnel (5%)
6. Communicating Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and FOH (5%)
7. Assist Executive Chef and Sous chef with Banquets (5%)
8. Maintain appropriate par levels of food items depending on business levels (5%)
9. Help maintain organization and freshness of walk-ins (5%)

Non-Essential Functions: (5%)
1. Presenting new menu ideas
2. Elaborate with servers about food items
3. Communicate with hotel personnel and/or other aspects of hotel business


Knowledge and Skills:
Education: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; culinary school
preferred
Experience: 2 years of employment in a related field with this company or
other organizations(s) preferred but not necessary.
Age: Must be 18 years of age
Skills and Abilities: Communication (English) skills and hospitality skills required
Ability to work with others in a close environment
Ability to work with sharp knives/equipment
Ability to work with extreme hot/cold temperatures of foods
Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
Food Handler trainable
