Warwick International Hotels is seeking to appoint a Sales Manager to develop and deliver strong sales tactics and activities for its Warwick New York Hotel. Previous experience in the greater New York market is desired and preferred.

The ideal individual will possess excellent communication skills in customer relations, be aggressive in targeting new business and exceed established sales goals. You will be a dynamic, enterprising and astute professional who will be able to contribute to the overall success of this business and have the passion to take this hotel to the next level.
The successful incumbent will work directly with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Catering & Special Events to develop and implement strategic goals. You will provide a focus towards the future, and anticipate the needs and requirements for the sales department.

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Development, maintenance and solicitation of Group business contracts to ensure the necessary production volume needed to maximize the success and profitability for the Warwick New York Hotel.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

Actively solicit and secure new group and meetings business through personal calls, site inspections, tele-prospecting, blitzing, and sales trips to assigned territories. This includes all industries and markets of responsibility.

Maintain relationships with existing accounts to rebook annual group programs (meetings and group business) as well as develop new programs and ensure their success in our hotel.

Solidify relationships with assigned accounts through regular sales visits, client entertainment, agency/office receptions, site inspections and repeated follow-up. Develop creative programs to ensure maximum reservations and client satisfaction, whether for groups, transient, or FIT segments of business.

 

Proactive in pursuing sales activities on weekly basis to align with achieving monthly budget, individual and team goals -  personal sales calls/client entertainment, solicitation calls/emails and site inspections. Secure new volume producing corporate accounts in the assigned market segments to contribute in enhancing, maximizing and maintaining a healthy and robust Group portfolio of accounts.


Work in tandem with Director of Catering to develop catering business and maximize food & beverage needs of group clients. This includes working with Director of Catering to develop new catering programs and offerings to promote to existing and prospect group accounts.
 

Respond to client requests on a same-day basis and assure that proposals and contracts meet the hotel's requirements.

Maintain proper and complete files on all accounts in Nexus and paper files.

Along with DOSM and Catering Director, develop and facilitate marketing, public relations and media projects, applicable to the respective market segments.

Provide continuous information and recommendation to the DOSM on market trends, competitive positions and client reactions

Cross sell other Warwick International Hotels and Resorts on every sales contact. Direct leads to other Warwick International Hotels.

Participate in trade shows and industry functions as directed

 

Job Requirements:

Experience:
-Minimum of five years Sales Management Experience
-Minimum of three years in hotel sales experience and excellent network contacts are required to succeed in this position
-Expertise in training, coaching, and leadership disciplines
-Identifiable track record of team play and accomplishment

Skills:
-Sales and Customer Service skills and experience.
-Computer literacy in a Windows environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Nexus CRM system and Opera preferred.

-Prior experience/education in documentation (i.e., procedures, contingency plans, training manuals, etc.).
-Performs well under pressure and can meet deadlines.
-Excellent organizational & time management skills.
-Ability to multitask on an on-going basis.
-Superior written and verbal communication skills
-Positive attitude and upbeat personality; flexibility.
-Commitment to exceeding guest expectations.

Education:
Undergraduate degree preferred. A Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management will be a plus.
