Job Description
Provides fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to kitchen and restaurant staff. Prepares tableware for washing (scrapes plates, pre-soaks silverware, places all items to be washed in their proper dishwasher rack. Sets up dish washing machine (drains closed, tanks filled, temperatures at correct level, detergent at proper level). Washes all dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment by using sprayer nozzle, baskets or conveyors, or immersing of objects in washing and rinsing solutions. Dries all objects using cloth or drying oven. Stacks and stores all dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment in the appropriate place. Wipes counter areas, sinks and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station. Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards. Washes walls and ceiling tiles. Deep cleans kitchen equipment (stoves, broilers, flat tops, etc.), refrigerators and freezers as scheduled or required. Operates and maintains equipment as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures. Removes and properly disposes of all refuse and debris in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures. Removes and properly disposes of all refuse and debris accumulated in kitchen or restaurant in accordance with department procedures. Knows and promotes current casino events and programs and can give guests directions to all casino areas.
Job Requirements
Six months previous kitchen worker experience preferred. Read, understand and speak English. Excellent customer service/communication skills. Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy. Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (Glass racks, bus tubs with dishes, bins of flatware) Must be able to push or pull 100 pounds (Loaded dish carts, refuse dollies, food carts, rolling kitchen hot boxes and cabinets). Must be able to reach above and below the shoulder, grip small items (i.e., utensils, plates, glasses), bend, stoop and twist while carrying stock to and from supply areas; stand and walk for up to four hours; able to use hand motions when cleaning and wiping kitchen areas. Able to work in constricting areas. Must be able to tolerate areas with high temperatures. Must be able to tolerate industry standard chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing. Able to work at a fast pace in an often crowded/noisy environment. Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Must be able to abide by the company appearance standards and compliance with the designated uniform. Must be able to obtain and maintain and Indiana Gaming Commission Identification Badge.
