Job Description
The Front Desk Agent is the first point of contact for guests and is responsible for creating an excellent first impression. S/he is responsible for guest registration, room assignments, and key control responsibilities. S/he motivates and trains others to provide the most exceptional guest service as well as elevating and maintaining Red Lion Hotel Seattle guest service standards
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Check guest in, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted/fulfilled and accurate information is established.
· Maintain an up to date working knowledge of all hotel amenities as well as any special events.
· Promote and sell special hotel programs, special rate packages, and upgrades when appropriate.
· Interact with associates in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
· Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and hotel policies.
· Maintain house bank and handle all checks and cash according to the hotel policies and procedures.
· Communicate all pertinent information to the Director of Hotel Services and Supervisors.
· Follow set procedures on posting, charges, cashing checks, safe deposits, and refunds.
· Solicit guest feedback via Market Matrix by attaining e-mail address.
· Answer the telephone in a professional manner and assist guests with any questions, directions to the property etc.
· Provides directions to guest to local destinations.
· Maintains supplies for front desk area.
· Understand, maintain and demonstrate the 5 fundamental principles of the Little Red Book: Sound Judgment, Integrity, Dependability, Connect, and Initiative.
· Confer and cooperate with other department managers to ensure coordination of Hotel activities.
· Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services.
· Perform additional duties as requested by the Director of Hotel services.
