Valet Attendant
To ensure customer satisfaction by offering the highest caliber of service to the hotel guest on arrival, departure and throughout the length of the guests stay.
Hotel Overview: The Fairmont Newport Beach hotel in Southern California radiates a dramatic feel from both an architectural and design standpoint. Each and every aspect is designed to surround you with the total 'O.C.' luxury experience.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Front Office, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
* Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service.
* Greet all guests and co-workers with a smile and an appropriate hospitality greeting.
* Be noticeably positioned at entrances to provide parking assistance upon arrival, and departure of guest vehicles.
* Greets all guests arriving by vehicle, and accepts vehicle for parking or directs guest to appropriate parking service.
* Ensures all vehicle keys are clearly identified and stored in a locked location.
* Will provide the guest with detailed parking charges, and provide guest with payment receipt.
* Ensures all entrance areas are free and clear from congestion for arrivals and departures of vehicles in an expedient manner.
* When requested or anticipated will provide guests with information and answers to questions about Hotel facilities, meeting functions, dining facilities, local transportation alternatives, local visitor and tourist attractions.
* Provide the removal of items from stored vehicles if required, and other miscellaneous services requested by the guest or supervisor in a timely manner.
* Assists in fire alarms by fulfilling duties as outlined in the hotel fire response manual.
* Assist in ensuring guest and co-worker safety and security by reporting any suspicious or unusual behavior or occurrence to the appropriate supervisor on duty, and informing security.
* In the course of normal duties, to observe, report, or take immediate corrective action on deficiencies, malfunctions, and untidiness.
* Report for duty with a professional appearance and dress to standards.
* Other Duties as assigned.

* Previous experience is an asset.
* Hospitality background an asset.
* Working knowledge of Property Manager, Windows, Excel, Word.
* Proven Commitment to health and safety.
* Results oriented with ability to be flexible and work under pressure.
* Providing efficient service in a timely manner.
* Good Command of English Language.
* Valid Drivers License.
* No points or infractions on your driving record within the past 5 years.
* Knowledge of Standard & Automatic vehicles.
* Flexible working schedule (Shift work).
* Ability to balance cash float.
* Basic accounting knowledge.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
* Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
* Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
* Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
* Must be able to lift and carry heavy loads up to 50lb.
Visa Requirements: All Candidates must be in possession of identification proving authorization to work in the United States as defined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA)
