Job Description
Primary Tasks:
To be thoroughly acquainted with all check-in procedures
and policies.
To be thoroughly acquainted with all checkout procedures
and policies.
Be familiar with guest scenarios.
Be familiar with all technical equipment as related to
the Front Desk.
To be familiar with all hotel facilities.
To be familiar with general organization set-up.
To be familiar with the inter-relationship between the
different departments.
Report product/service defects, and measuring process
attributes as applicable
Report guest preferences and guest complaints
Resolve all guest complaints possible through the Power
of One
Knowledge of Gift Certificate Sale Procedures
Essential Tasks:
Greeting guests; performing all check-in and checkout
function; disbursing room keys; informing
guests about hotel facilities and services;
accommodating guests? requests; resolving guests?
problems; answering telephone; posting charges; handling
cash and credit card transactions; maintaining and
balancing cash bank; taking reservations; completing
necessary paperwork; acquiring alternate accommodations
for guests when hotel is full and accompanying the guest
to the alternate location; scheduling guest appointments
outside the hotel (e.g. restaurants, hair salons)
Job Requirements
Ability to interact well with other people.
Ability to communicate successfully and maintain good
interpersonal relations with guests, employees and the
general public via telephone and in person.
Ability to resolve problems with minimal guidance.
ability to adapt to special and sometimes unexpected
situations.
Ability to access, input and retrieve information using
the computer system.
Ability to utilize photo-copying machine facsimile
machine, credit card imprinter, and stapler.
Ability to calculate.
Ability to lift and carry up to a 30 pound box from back
room to front desk; mobility within work station;
mobility between front desk and other departments.
Ability to work extra hours as needed.
Ability to handle stress of dealing with upset guests.
Ability to function effectively in noisy, busy and
crowded environment.
