POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for coordinating the proper and accurate accounting of the franchisees' payments and related receivable accounts.  This includes general ledger postings of payments, and documentation of procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Maintains the integrity and accuracy of the accounting systems by ensuring consistency and timeliness of all reporting activities.
* Receives all payments from LQ franchisees.
* Codes and sends checks to the applicable lockbox account and performs daily retrieval of the lockbox files containing cash or affiliation fees.
* Uploading the lockbox/wire information into PeopleSoft on a daily basis and posting accounts receivable payments against outstanding balances.
* Prepares daily general ledger journal entries.
* Sorts and files documents after processing.
* Assists with the monthly close process.
* Assists in research and resolutions for Franchise Operations and Accounting issues.
* Provides required documentation for external financial audits.
* Performs miscellaneous tasks and special projects as assigned.
* Addresses issues and responds timely to customers.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
* Associates Degree preferred (Can be substituted with High School Diploma and related work experience.)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
* 2 to 3 years.

COMPUTER EXPERIENCE:
* Intermediate Word & Excel, PeopleSoft, NiteVision or equivalent PMS software and Cognos and internet

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
* Involves no responsibility or authority for the direction of others.
* Decisions/impact is normally limited to this position.
* Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
* Demonstrates positive attitude and promotes a respectful workplace. 
* Work consists of routine tasks, processes, or operations.  The incumbent selects and applies several clearly prescribed, standard policies and procedures requiring little interpretation. 
* Makes routine decisions; work may occasionally involve non-standard assignments; however, the methodology is normally prescribed in detail by the immediate supervisor.  There is limited opportunity for independent judgment.
* Responds to and handles unfamiliar situations with direct supervisory guidance.
* Has knowledge of office or operational procedures.  Performs basic typing/word-processing, bookkeeping, checking of charts or records and posting of information to a database/spreadsheet, following instructions.

* Requires regular contact with customers, outside agencies and the general public, supplying or seeking information on non-specialized matters.
