Department

The Banquets department is where all of the grand events take place at THE US GRANT. The Banquets team is responsible for working as a team to create experiences ranging from a small breakfast meeting for ten to a gala event for hundreds. Banquets works closely with the Catering and Sales departments to ensure all guest requests are met.

Job Description

The Banquet Cook is responsible for helping to create memorable culinary experiences for groups and events of all sizes. A Banquet Cook must be able to respond quickly and professionally in high-stress situations, and must be able to prepare and plate dishes according to impeccable Luxury Collection standards. The Banquet Cook will report to the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef; a cook must be able to carefully follow all instructions and recipes. Prior experience in high-volume luxury hotel banquet kitchens is preferred but not required.

Requirements

A San Diego County Food Handler's card or ServSafe certificate is required, and there must be at least 6 months of validity until the expiration date.
