Here at Sage Hospitality our concern is for the comfort of our guests and the way in which we treat our environment. Our Green Effort involves reducing our carbon footprint at every one of our hotel locations by asking our guests to leave our convenient door-hangers out to help us conserve energy.

By placing the hanger on your door, you will be declining guest room cleaning for the day. This will help reduce the hotels’ energy and water usage.

General Clean Attendant

POSITION FOCUS
Under general supervision, assists in cleanliness and general upkeep of guest rooms in order to keep the facility functional and attractive to prospective customers.

The service and courtesy you extend and promote on a daily basis will ensure a healthy and productive culture of serving others with excellence.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes assigned job duties for general clean within assigned time frame in order to achieve the utmost operational efficiency of the hotel and its rooms.

Performs systematic checks and inspections to aid in the upkeep of the hotel and assists in the established proactive general clean program in order to prevent malfunctions, and general depreciation.

Complete daily, weekly and quarterly cleaning checklists.

Maintains work spaces and equipment in safe, secure and good condition in order to reduce accidents and to prolong their use.

Assists department in maintaining safety equipment and emergency procedures for the safety of all guests and associates.

Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous manner at all times.

Flip and rotate mattress (es). Mark the top and bottom of the mattress to insure proper rotation.

Vacuum and spot clean carpeting, upholstery and drapery. Remove any gums from surfaces.

Clean and repair guest room entry doors and door frames.

Inspect bed frame for safety concerns.

Deep cleaning of furniture a minimum of once per year.

Carpet care program includes extraction quarterly.

Remove, dry clean, and re-hang guest room drapes once per year.

Thoroughly clean floors and furniture.

Notify housekeeping leadership, maintenance department or MOD of malfunctioning equipment, supplies needed or damage to floor covering, upholstery, walls, or any other room feature.

Attends all departmental meetings in person in order to enhance communication and gain knowledge of products, service and facility.
Respond to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone by providing timely and knowledgeable information in order to provide customer service.

Follow all safety guidelines to ensure safety and protection of self, associates and guests.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Provides assistance to other outlets and hotel departments to contribute to the best overall performance.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Must fully comply with rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the hotel facilities.

Knowledge/Skills
Must have basic working knowledge in the following areas: hotel room cleaning
Basic understanding of cleaning methods, cleaning implements and chemicals

Abilities
Must have vision to read written communiqués and computer screens.
Must have finger, hand and upper body dexterity to pull levers and rotate knobs, work with arms raised above head Must have upper body strength to lift 75lbs. throughout shift.
Must have leg strength and ability to crawl into and through small spaces, climb ladders, support and carry loads of 75lbs.
Continuous standing, walking, reaching, heavy lifting and bending during shift.
Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions, communicate both verbally and in writing, utilize analytical thought processes and be highly organized.
Must have ability to communicate effectively and courteously with employees and guests in writing, via telephone and in person.

Education/Formal Training
No formal education required.

Experience
A minimum of 6 months successful experience in equal or similar position.
Exposure to hazardous materials on a daily basis.

Material/Equipment Used
Chemicals/Agents used: Wax, stripper, sealer, carpet spotter, carpet shampoo (used daily). Protective clothing -safety shoes worn 100% of shift. Operate high speed buffer, extractor, wet vacuum (used daily).

Environment
Prolonged strenuous physical activity in indoor climate-controlled environment.
