Job Description
|
DUTIES:
Willingness to accept the most effective role.
Assists management in overall waterpark operation.
Clearly describes and assigns responsibility and authority for the operation of the
department.
Responsible for assisting the management team in their areas of focus as needed.
Responsible for fulfilling the Aquatics MOD duties as specified in the Aquatics MOD job
description.
Permits and encourages advancement for those Pack Members qualified and interested in
career development.
Works to maintain an efficient, cooperative atmosphere among Pack Members.
Maintains a general knowledge of the entire resort operation.
Projects a positive public relations image to Pack Members and guests.
Has working knowledge of Great Wolf Lodge emergency procedures. Administers and
coordinates emergency first aid as necessary, as well as the documentation of incidents
involving guests and Pack Members.
Attends meetings as required.
Assists other departments on an as-needed basis.
Position requires a commitment of at least 45 hours per week. Plans, administers, and monitors training and development programs within the department
to provide well-trained Pack Members at all levels.
Coordinates and maintains documentation for training programs that include, but are not
limited to: E&A Lifeguard training, Lifeguard orientation, rides training, in-service, VAT,
internal auditing, Supevisor training, Emergency Response training, and general safety
training.
Assigns instructors for training sessions to comply with E&A instructor-to-student ratio
requirements.
Sets up class space, agendas, supplies, and documents for classes. Conducts training if
necessary.
Maintains training manuals, training kits, and training rosters.
Maintains records documenting that each Pack Member has been trained for the position
they are assigned.
Updates lifeguard licenses on E&A’s website and ensure consistency between physical
licenses and those located on the site.
Maintains in-service records and communicates to Lifeguards and management the names of
those that are not in compliance with E&A requirements.
Maintains and evaluates monthly compliance with VAT requirements.
Tracks rescue reports and completes an annual survey for E&A. Communicates rescue
statistics quarterly to management team.
Attends safety training programs and in-service education as required.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Aquatics.
College degree preferred.
Complete GWR Manager Training Program.
CPO (Certified Pool Operator) preferable.

Job Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Must work late nights, weekends, and holidays.
High School Diploma required.
Must be able to create and maintain documents within Microsoft Office including Word,
Excel, and Powerpoint.
Minimum 2 years of experience in supervising employees.
Possess Ellis & Associates ILTP license, Ellis & Associates Basic Leadership Training
license, and Ellis & Associates Instructor license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Swim 50 yards in 4 ft. of water and retrieve a 10 lb brick at bottom of pool.
Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Work in a humid, warm environment and be immersed in water for
extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs and up to 100 lbs.
Climb multiple flights of stairs. |
