MAINTENANCE PERSON

Position Summary:

Responsible for the preventative maintenance of the hotel guestrooms/suites, public space and all related equipment.

Essential Functions:

1. Work primarily on guest rooms/suites repairs.
2. Perform maintenance requests. Document all maintenance jobs in daily log.
3. Prioritize and complete work orders in a timely fashion.
4. Inform guests, when necessary, of the maintenance procedures completed on their room/suite.
5. Perform daily safety check.
6. Train on fire and other hotel emergency procedures.
7. Responsible for pool and spa maintenance procedures, as necessary.
8. Responsible for lawn and ground maintenance procedures to support groundskeeper, as necessary.
9. Check life safety devices in guest rooms/suites.
10. Log all completed maintenance requests.
11. Assist Chief Engineer in the identification of persistent, consistent or major maintenance problems.
12. Complete daily check lists.
13. Complete monthly task sheet assignments.
14. Complete progress log on daily assignments.
15. Follow preventative maintenance schedule as set forth by supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities:

Adhere to procedures and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.

Education and Experience:

Basic plumbing and electrical experience required.
Drywall and painting experience required.
Carpet and flooring experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:

Must be able to work with little to no supervision.
Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to ascend and descend a ladder or scaffolding.
