JOB ACTIVITIES

* The Golf Course Ranger should be seen a minimum of
four (4) by each on the course during an 18 hole round.
Ranger is expected to greet/acknowledge each group as he
passes (using member & guest names whenever
known/available).

* Under no circumstances will the Golf Course Ranger
?hunt? for golf balls and/or practice golf while on
duty. Therefore, having a ball retriever and/or golf
club on the Ranger cart is not permitted.

* Golf Course Ranger is responsible for verifying that
appropriate golf fees have been received from late
afternoon golfers after the Golf Course Starter has left
at the end of each day.

* Do not allow anyone to fish in the ponds on the golf
course. Explain to the individual(s) that they could be
hit by a golf ball and/or will interfere with golfers
play.

* Inform the Golf Course Superintendent immediately of
any irrigation breaks and/or unusual course
conditions/damage.

* Joggers, walkers, bicycles or privately owned golfer
cars are not permitted on the golf course, except in
designated areas, i.e. the Jogging Trail. Residents
around the golf course are not permitted to practice or
play on the golf course. All golfers must register in
the Golf Shop; pay appropriate fees & is issued a golf
cart prior to going onto the golf course. All play
starts on the 1st or 10th Tee.

* Do not drive-up on golfers while they are playing a
stroke. Be courteous & stop your cart far enough away to
avoid distracting the golfer.

* If golfers are searching for a lost ball, stop &help
them for a period of not more than 5 minutes. Remind the
golfer the GA Rules of Golf limit searching for a lost
ball to 5 minutes. After 5 minutes ask the golfer to
continue play without further delay.

* The Golf Course Ranger is responsible for ensuring
golfers display proper Golf Etiquette:

A. Courtesy on the Course:

1. Safety of other golfers

2. Consideration for other golfers

B. Pace of Play:

1. On a #1 Tee (Single Tee) Start Only, we expect a four
(4) hour or less pace of play.

2. On a #1 & #10 Tees (Double Tee) Start, we expect a
four (4) hour and 16 minute pace of play. On Double Tee
Starts we do not alternate starting times with groups
crossing over for second nine holes of round. CAUTION
THE EARLY GROUPS TO PACE THEMSELVES ACCORDINGLY, i.e.
the 7:00am Starting Time off #1 Tee will tee off #10 Tee
by 9:08am.

3. Pace of Play suggestions made to groups:

a) Players determine their order of play prior to
arriving at their next tee.

b) Players must be ready to hit (distance determined &
club in hand at their ball) when it is their turn to
play.

c) Encourage golfers to play from the tee markers, which
reflect their ability.

d) Park golf carts between the green and next tee at the
lines indicated in the cart paths. NEVER PARK GOLF CARTS
IN FRONT OF GREENS.

e) NO MULLIGANS are allowed on the golf course.

f) Advise golfers of Course Yardage Markers all being
measured to center of greens.

Blue disks and posts - 200 yards

White disks and posts - 150 yards

Red disks and posts - 100 yards

C. Priority on the Course

1. Single players have no standing on the course.

2. 18 holes round groups have priority over 9 hole round
groups.

D. Care of the Course:

1. Rake bunkers

2. Fill in divots with sand provided in buckets on
carts.

3. Repair ball marks and damage from golf spikes on
greens.

4. Do not stand/walk too near or on hole.

5. Carefully remove and replace flagstick to not damage
cup.

E. Enforce Golf Cart Regulations:

1. Only two (2) people in a golf cart at any time.

2. No one under 16 years of age may operate a golf cart.

3. Cart Rule for the Day, either 90 Degree Angle Rule or
Cart Path Only Rule.

4. Carts may never cross the ropes in front of greens.

5. Carts must be parked on paths around all tees and
greens.

6. Carts must remain on cart paths on all Par 3 Holes.

7. Carts are never to be driven off the golf course
property.

8. Carts are never to be driven on lake bank slopes.

9. Carts are not permitted in parking garages.

* Responsible for enforcing the Golf Course & Club Rules
(copy of current Club Rules & Policies):

a) Dress Code. If Ranger observes someone in violation
of the Dress Code, politely and discreetly inform the
individual. Request they change into and/or purchase the
proper attire in the Golf Shop, or leave the course and
receive a pro-rated refund for fees charged.

b) No Fivesomes are allowed, unless authorized by the
Director of Golf Operations.

c) No spectators, joggers or walkers are allowed on the
course from dawn to dusk. In the event of a special
event or tournament spectators, at their own risk, may
be permitted on the course.

* Stay in regular contact with the Golf Course Starter
reporting the Pace of Play & potential challenges.

* Ensure the course is used to maximum efficiency at all
times, by grouping players into foursomes on the course.

* Assist with setting-up and starting tournament play

a) Shuttling golfers to the Practice Area.

b) Leading groups to starting hole assignments for
Shotgun Starts.

c) Place Special Event Contest Signage/Stantions
(Longest Drive, Closest-to-Hole, Straightest Drive,
etc), on the course prior to start of tournament.

* During times when there are only a few players on the
golf course, assist with the following:

a) The neat & organized appearance of the Practice Area
by picking-up baskets & balls as time permits.

b) Filling-in divots in the fairways.

c) Ensuring lateral water hazard stakes are visible,
straight & equidistant around hazard.

d) Rakes are picked-up & return to cart staging area.

e) Ensure Out of Bounds stakes are visible, straight &
properly define boundaries.

* Ensure the appearance of the Golf Course is neat &
free of debris/litter:

a) After Shotgun Starts when Resort Guest Groups have
been provided boxed lunches, place empty boxes in trash
bag(s) so the trash receptacles are not overflowing.
Dispose of trash bags in dumpster in Landscape/Golf
Course Maintenance Compound.

b) While patrolling course pick up all cups, liter and
debris on and/or around the course.

c) Ensure water cooler system station areas have no cups
on the ground around the station and ice & water are in
ample supply.

* Complete Daily Pace of Play Report, and return at the
end of shift to the desk of the Golf Professional -
Resort Course.

* Attend all scheduled Golf Operations Staff Meetings

* Relieve the Golf Course Starter for lunch break and as
requested by the Starter.

* GRATUITIES FOR SERVICES RENDERED MAY BE ACCEPTED.
HOWEVER, IF STARTING TIMES ARE CREATED, GROUPS ARE
?SQUEEZED? IN BETWEEN RESERVED STARTING TIMES, OR
GOLFERS ARE KNOWINGLY PERMITTED TO START PLAY WITHOUT
BEING CHARGED APPROPRIATE GOLF FEES MAY RESULT IN
IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT.

* Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
by supervisors/manager.

Education and/or Experience: High School degree or
equivalent. Six months to one related work experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
& experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, write, analyze, and
interpret general business reports & correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information & respond to
questions from managers, groups & customers.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems &
deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, stoop or
bend for duration of shift [at least eight (8) hours].
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to sit & operate a golf cart; use
hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or
controls; talk & hear. The employee is frequently
required to stand & walk. The employee must occasionally
lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job are close & far vision.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this
job the employee works in outside weather conditions.

People Skills: Friendly and outgoing personality. Enjoys
servicing and interacting with customers.
