The first property to be acquired was the famed Chateau Marmont in 1990, which is the sister hotel to The Mercer. The company is headquartered in New York.
The Mercer was transformed from a 19th century warehouse into SoHo's first and foremost luxury hotel. It features 75 guest rooms on six floors including the first hotel to offer loft-like rooms and suites. The hotel has been custom designed by renowned French designer Christian Liaigre.
