Restaurant jobs offer plenty of possibilities for today's job seeking professional. In fact, restaurant employment opportunities tend to continue to increase even in a soft economy. Whether you aspire to restaurant management, love to be at the front of the house, or prefer working behind the scenes, you will find numerous restaurant jobs at Hcareers.

Hcareers is the premium job board for restaurant staff positions. Featuring restaurant jobs from power houses in the restaurant industry, including Landry's Restaurants Inc., Patina Restaurant Group, Mortons and SIR Corp, Hcareers connects restaurant professionals with restaurant work every day. Restaurant jobs posted by employers such as Prime Restaurants Inc., Culinary Concepts by Jean-Georges and White Spot Limited often include positions in restaurant management and front of house as well as jobs for kitchen staff. Entry-level jobs at restaurants are always plentiful.

Most entry-level restaurant jobs require minimal formal education. This means they're ideal for young people just beginning their careers or other professionals who want to enter a career with advancement potential that does not require a degree. On-the-job training is common in restaurant positions. While upper level roles, such as restaurant manager, general manager or restaurant human resources, may require a significant amount of experience or a degree in hospitality, restaurant management or business, positions such as host, waitress, busser and dishwasher do not. Such restaurant jobs are a great way to get your foot in the door in a growing industry. In fact, a survey by the National Restaurant Association (NRA) revealed that 80 percent of restaurant owners got their start in an entry-level position.

The restaurant industry is the United States' second largest private sector employer. Restaurant jobs are predicted to make up 10 percent of the nation's workforce by the end of 2012. This equates to approximately 12.9 million restaurant positions for kitchen managers, waiters, hosts and hostesses, cooks, chefs, bakers, sommeliers and others. According to the NRA, 93 percent of restaurants and food and beverage establishments have fewer than 50 employees, so small business is king in the industry. Seven out of 10 establishments are single-unit operations.

The NRA predicts a bright future for professionals seeking restaurant jobs. Employment is expected to increase to 14.3 million professionals by 2022. Predictions made by the Bureau of Labor Statistics are also good. They expect restaurant positions will continue to increase at a moderate pace of eight percent through 2018. Job growth within the restaurant industry has also outpaced the national economy for 12 consecutive years, from 2000 through 2011. The National Restaurant Association expects total restaurant industry sales to top $632 billion this year. The higher the sales, the more restaurant jobs will be created.

This is fantastic news for professionals seeking restaurant job openings. Whether you're beginning your first job, making a career change, or want part time employment to rake in extra cash, check the Hcareers job board daily for the latest restaurant jobs.
