Professionals in these food service jobs have similar responsibilities and educational requirements as those listed for the director, though they may also work their way up from other restaurant management positions. Assistant food and beverage managers do just that, they assist. They start with less experience, but may eventually work their way up into a higher-level management role. Food and beverage managers and assistant managers may receive salary or hourly wages.

Food and beverage sales positions are found within establishments such as hotels, casinos, country clubs and other businesses that host conferences, weddings, banquets and events. Professionals in these food service jobs sell the establishment's food and beverage services to clients. For example, if a bride-to-be is holding her wedding reception at the country club, someone in food and beverage sales will work with her in regards to the menu, drinks and refreshments and associated costs. Compensation for this type of food and beverage position may be based on salary plus commission.
