Casino Jobs

Casino jobs are never a gamble, as casino careers are suited to a wide variety of professionals. Casino employment opportunities may be found across the United States and around the world. Whether you want to stay put or relocate to the country of your dreams, you will find many casino jobs at Hcareers.

Hcareers is the premier job board for casino employment. Top employers in the industry, including Revel Entertainment, Ameristar and Harrah's, frequently post casino job openings in the categories of casino executive and management, casino security and as well as casino hotel positions. Entry level casino jobs are often available, including dealer and casino host and hostess positions. These entry level positions usually only require a high school diploma or GED, though dealer applicants may need to audition on the floor in order to prove their understanding of the game and ability to engage players.

Casinos are usually open 24 hours a day, which generally offers professionals in the gaming industry significant schedule flexibility. Casino job shifts may include day, swing and graveyard. A casino employee who wants to continue his or her education during the day can easily do so while working the graveyard shift as a floor supervisor, slot manager or poker dealer. Because of the flexibility of hours, casino jobs may be well suited to young parents, professionals making career changes or individuals who want to pick up a second income.

If you'd like to roll the dice on a casino career, the outlook is favorable, as casino jobs are expected to increase worldwide in the near future. Spectrum Gaming Group, an independent research company, recently made a few predictions for the casino industry for 2012 and beyond. Their forecast calls for major U.S. casino chains to develop gaming resorts in Asia and other underdeveloped countries. They also expect that gambling legalization efforts in states such as New Hampshire and Texas will increase, and expansion opportunities will be pursued in Florida, Illinois and New York. This is great news for professionals searching for jobs in casinos as more casinos mean more casino employment opportunities.

According to the American Gaming Association, casino jobs have increased more than 70 percent over the last 22 years. In 2010, casinos employed more than 340,000 professionals who earned $13.3 billion in wages including tips and benefits. The American Gaming Association also reports that 566 casinos in 22 states supported close to $125 billion in spending and directly or indirectly contributed to the employment of nearly 820,000 professionals in 2010.

Las Vegas alone employed almost 85,000 people working in casinos in 2011, and over $12 billion in revenue was generated by 22 casinos in the Las Vegas Strip area, according to a report developed by the University of Las Vegas Center for Gaming. Revenue from craps, blackjack, poker, roulette and other gaming positions accounted for 38.2 percent of the total, while revenue generated from casino hotel room bookings accounted for 24 percent and food and beverage sales accounted for 22 percent.

It's no secret the gaming industry is booming. If you desire flexibility, fun and the opportunity for success, check Hcareers regularly for new casino jobs and employment opportunities.
